About THE TRAINER
Amy Collins // Nest Trainer
my Collins, MAT, is the Illuminate Coordinator, a program dedicated to violence prevention, at Portland State University.
Amy specializes in crafting creative programming to induce behavioral and social change. She understands that transformation comes through personal connection and the communication of understanding and empathy. Amy is an accomplished and dynamic public speaker and believes strongly in inspiring others to participate in positive social change. She strives to do social justice work with intellectual humility and the recognition that we are all in the process of learning. Amy lectures and trains widely in the U.S. on the promotion of equity and the prevention of violence, and the many intersections in this work among gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity and religion.
With over 15 years of experience as a Violence Prevention Specialist, Amy provides consulting to professionals and has trained in a variety of settings including Harvard University, University of California Los Angeles, Portland State University, Portland Public School District, and Dallas and Austin Texas School District. Amy is available for training's in a variety of settings and appreciates working in collegiate, business, legal, and educational settings.
Amy is a mountain biking enthusiast and unapologetic bookworm.
