Understand media's impact on mental health and build healthier digital habits
Social media and digital technology are integral to modern life, but excessive or unhealthy use can significantly impact mental health, especially for young people. This workshop explores the complex relationship between media consumption and mental well-being, including issues like comparison culture, fear of missing out (FOMO), sleep disruption, and cyberbullying. Participants will learn to recognize signs of problematic media use, set healthy boundaries around screen time, and develop strategies for more intentional digital engagement. The workshop also covers how to model balanced media habits and help youth cultivate critical awareness of how online platforms affect their mood, self-esteem, and relationships. Participants will leave equipped to support healthier relationships with technology.
