Radicalization & Media Literacy

60 min

This lesson is currently under review with Nest Educational Advisors. Please check back later for updates.

In this lesson, students will explore the process of radicalization, focusing on how losing significance and feeling isolated or alienated can make someone more vulnerable. Through journal prompts, class discussions, a lecture, and a group activity, they will analyze how extremist groups use grooming to target vulnerable people and how social media algorithms reinforce echo chambers. Students will also develop media literacy skills to critically analyze online content, and recognize signs of grooming and radicalization.
