How to Argue

This lesson teaches students about healthy conflict resolution through exploring aggressive, passive-aggressive, and manipulative behaviors. Students engage in journaling and fishbowl discussions before learning five key rules for "fair fighting." They then practice identifying violations of these rules through an interactive officiating activity using scripts and orange flags. The lesson concludes with writing appreciation haikus, helping students connect conflict management skills to positive relationships.

At the start of class:

  • Orange cards/slips of paper for "flags" prepped
