how to prepare for this lesson

Because of the multiple videos during this lesson, students will not begin by sitting together in a circle on the carpet or with their seats.

Students will need their What’s My Feeling? Handouts to reference during a discussion on feelings. To save time, distribute these at the beginning of the lesson. At the end of the lesson, students will receive a new Kindness Scout Badge as a reminder to be upstanders. The Kindness Scout Badges: Upstander sheets should be pre-cut into squares, with each student receiving one. Students will then color them in and cut them into circles to add to their vests. Distribute student’s Kindness Scout Handouts during this time for them to glue their new badges on. Be sure to collect the Kindness Scout and What’s My Feeling? Handouts at the end of the lesson or instruct students to keep them in a safe place for future lessons.

Please ensure to pre-check videos before class, as internet policies may vary among schools, to ensure accessibility.
