This lesson explores the roles of bystanders and upstanders in situations involving harm or harassment. Through journal reflections and a structured fishbowl discussion, students examine their own experiences with witnessing harm. The lesson introduces the "5 D's" framework for upstander intervention: Direct Action, Distract, Delegate, Document, and Delayed Action. Students apply their learning by designing fictional "Upstander GO!" personas and conclude with creating visual representations of gratitude.
