Prototyping Our Solutions

This lesson focuses on prototype development as students work to create tangible solutions that promote healthy relationships in their community. Building on their previous work with the Innovator's Compass framework, students spend the majority of the class period constructing physical prototypes of their chosen solutions using various art materials and supplies.

how to prepare for this lesson

At the start of class:

  1. Students should have journals out
  2. Innovator’s Compass on display
  3. Gather and organize prototyping materials:
    • Basic art supplies (markers, colored pencils, tape, scissors)
    • Paper and recycled cardboard
    • Optional building materials (bricks, buttons, beads, yarn)
