how to prepare for this lesson

Be sure to read carefully through the Community Agreements before this class. A few are emphasized in the teacher script for students before beginning the lesson.

Students will need their Feelings Wheel Handouts at the start of the lesson for partner reflection following their 3M meditation on Slide 5.

For this lesson, students will be conducting interviews with a partner. It is good to prepare the student pairings ahead of class to save time. Students should be paired up with someone they don’t already know well but problematic or unsafe pairings should be avoided. Students will be sharing personal details of their lives. Pairings where bullying or teasing is already present should be avoided. Pairs will need writing utensils and paper to record their partner’s responses. Every student should receive a copy of the Classmate Interview Handout.

Please ensure to pre-check videos before class, as internet policies may vary among schools, to ensure accessibility.
